O25 Divsion Rule Update

After reviewing a formal inquiry to the board, expressed concerns of our members, and the circumstances under which our original rule change was made, the BOG has voted on and approved a revision to the rule change. The Over25 division will still require riders to be 25 years of age or older as of January 1,2018, but we will be "grandfathering" in any rider who meets the following criteria:

1. Has competed at a Mid-Atlantic series competition or MGAA Nationals in the Over25 division in 2017 before this revision was released (MA1, MA2, MA3, MA4, or MGAA Nationals)
2. Has not competed in the Open division at any MGAA competition in 2017

If you believe that you meet these criteria, please contact a member of the BOG by November 1, 2017. Approval will be granted to continue riding in the Over25 division for 2018 and thereafter. After November 1, 2017, no further exceptions or extensions will be granted. Riders who are approved for a waiver and choose to ride in the Open division at any MGAA competition will void their waiver until they are over 25 as of January 1 of the year they wish to return to Over25.

As always, thank you for your involvement. Our BOG wants to stay open to our members' feedback and we hope that this will be satisfying to those members who have found a home in the Over25 division.
