mid-afternoon each day providing breakfast, lunch, snacks and beverages.

$20 per night.

must be stripped before leaving. Tack/feed stalls are also $20

stalls available if the facility stall maximum is reached early.
Horses/ponies have priority.
PAXTON FARM CAMPING:
Paxton Farm has only a limited amount of
camping sites with electrical hookups available ($25 per night).

ENTRY FORM:
The MGAA Entry form is in a Microsoft Word Form format which means that
you are able to download it from the MGAA website, fill in the form
electronically, save it, and then email it directly to the Show
Secretary, Shelley Hoke. This will allow you to notify Shelley that
your paperwork in on its way. You must still print out the completed
form and snail mail it to Shelley along with your signed release form,
medical release, pony coggins, and check made out to MGAA. The entry is
not completed until all paperwork and the payment is in Shelley’s hands.
CALLING ALL
VOLUNTEERS:
To host a successful MGAA Nationals event, we need the help of many
dedicated and hardworking volunteers. To ensure that no volunteer is
over worked, Kristi Mitchell as head of Volunteer Coordination will be
assigning tasks and setting the volunteer schedule. Please contact
Kristi with the tasks you can help out with and the times you are
available:
kristimitchell30@yahoo.com.
TEAM COLORS:
The Referee and
Judges will be calling the finish on races. To make it easier to call
the finish of races when there are five or more lanes, the organizer has
the right to ask a team to change the colors of their shirt/polos/helmet
covers/saddle pads. The team whose complete entry is received by the
Show Secretary first will have the rights to use the specified shirt
color throughout the competition. The Show Secretary will make every
attempt to notify teams of conflicts after the Closing Date. Team colors
are determined within each Division. No rider is allowed to wear
TANK TOPS OR SPORTS BRAS as team apparel during the competition heats or
finals.
WHITE HAT BANDS:
All teams must bring a white hat band for use by their team members. It
is easier for the Referee and Judge to determine the finish of a race if
teams are using white hat bands over their colored helmet covers versus
white hat covers.
VET:
Dr. John Nenni, DVM will be on the Paxton grounds 24/7 on Friday,
Saturday, and Sunday. Dr. Nenni is an Ohio
equine veterinarian who is experienced serving as an official on-site
vet (and competitor) for Endurance and Competitive trail riding.
He will be
performing jogs for soundness and will be available to examine, treat and refer ponies for
treatment if needed. MGAA is paying for his time on the grounds.
Treatment for ailments and injuries are the financial responsibilities
of the pony owners. There is also an excellent equine hospital near
Paxton Farm that we will use as a “go-to” hospital in case of an
emergency. We will also have an equine ambulance available if needed.
JOGS:
All ponies will be jogged everyday for soundness prior
to a team’s first heat and prior to tacking up.
STALL CARDS:
Stalls cards for your ponies will be required. Please
include a picture or description of your pony; your pony’s name, age,
sex, and size; your name and contact number.
EMT:
There will be an EMT on the grounds during the
competition hours. Please do not ride your pony when the EMT is not on
the grounds.
FARRIER:
A farrier is available on an on call basis. The pony
owner will be responsible for all costs related to his services.
HEALTH CERTIFICATES:
All pony paperwork must be verified upon
arrival at Paxton. Please have your coggins and health certificates
ready for inspection by the pony management committee members when you
enter the Paxton grounds.
